Grooming costs getting you down? Here’s how to save money with the Oster Turbo Clipper.

I have a one year old Springer spaniel, and before her, I had another Springer Spaniel who passed away last year at the age of 17. For all but the first year her life, I groomed her myself.

When I first got her, I took her to groomers. This wasn’t a good solution though. It was inconvenient because I had to travel to and from the groomer to drop her off and pick her up. It was expensive. And she was rarely clipped the way I wanted her to be clipped; I had trouble getting the groomers to listen to my instructions.

I decided to groom my dog myself. I started with inexpensive Oster clippers-the cheapest I could find. Although the clippers were passable, I ended up spending lots of money on blades because they didn’t last long, and the clippers wore out quickly.

I replaced that set with an Andis clipper. I was reasonably satisfied with that clipper, and I still have it. It has held up well, but it heats up very quickly, which means I have to stop often to let it cool before I can continue.

I then got the Oster A5 Turbo 2-Speed Professional clipper. And I discovered what a difference a great clipper can do for you.

All clippers save you money because you don’t have to pay grooming fees and the gas to get to and from the groomer. But some clippers are false savings because it takes so much time to groom your dog with them and you have to replace blades and/or the clipper itself too often.

The Oster A5 has saved me money in three ways. First, blades last longer. The clipper has a “CryogenX: blade with an “AgION” antimicrobial coating. This reduces the growth rate of a broad range of bacteria, mold, and mildew; so the blades last.

Second, time is money for me because I work for myself, and this clipper gets the job done faster. It has a fast running, over 4,000 strokes per minute, speed and a powerful universal rotary motor that runs cooler than any other clippers I’ve used. I don’t have to stop as often. The clipper glides through thick hair easier, and it also has a wider sweep. This makes for faster cutting.

Third, it’s durable, so you won’t be running out to buy a new clipper in a couple years I have dropped my clipper three times. What can I say? My dog squirms once in awhile and the clippers get knocked off the counter. They are still working great. They have a very durable housing The Oster Turbo clipper is a very heavy duty, professional quality clipper. It’s easy to get the hang of using it, and once you do, it saves you lots of money.
